Chronic
Mucocutaneous Candidiasis
Skin... Nails... And mucous membranes
Characterized by chronic infections
Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis
Sometimes associated with
endocrinopathies
Autosomal ressecive forms
The syndrome have been reported
Chronic Mucocutaneous Candidiasis
The Infection spreads from the perenial
And circumoral areas
Scalp, and face
Usually involving fingernails and
toenails
Generalized T-cell dysfunction
Severe intestinal pneumonia
Endocrine dysfunction
Endocrinopathy
Serum antobodies
React with a variety of endocrine tissues
This disorder reflects
A generalized autoimmune porcess
Cutaneous
Anaphilaxis
Upon
injection of antigen into the skin
A local anaphilactic reaction will occur
A wheal and flare reaction
Allergy to a wide variety of antigens
The local increase in vascular
permeability
Use of tracer dyes such as Evans blue dye
The binds of albumin in the blood
Blood vassels exhibit increased
permeability
Cutaneous Anaphilaxis
Ahhh - Mechanisms of tissue
Active Cutaneous
Anaphilaxis - Swelling and redness
Passive Cutaneous
Anaphilaxis - Specific types of antibody
Passive Cutaneous
Anaphilaxis - Bluing of the skin
ANAPHILAXIS
The anaphilatic reactions are mediated
By substances such as histamine
Since they are quickly inativated
By tissues and plasma
Adverse
Effects Seen in Immunologically
Compromised Hosts
Adverse
effects of viral vaccines
Seen in normal hosts
The pathogenesis of which is unclear
But which is thought to have an
immunologic basis
Postinfectious or postvaccinal
Encephalomyelitis is the classic example
Of a disease mediated by cell-mediated
Hypersensivity
These children fail to develope teh rash
Of measles and specific measles
Neutralizine antibody ans subsequently
die
Adverse effects of vaccines seen
In normal hosts that appear to be
Related to the nature of the
Antigen or the route of administration
